Rain Farm ....86mm and Counting.

It's raining. Not just raining, but RAINING. It's been raining since Wednesday afternoon. It hasn't stopped. Not even a little. The next three days are set to be the same.

Just when we were doing this.....

I am now putting out as many containers as possible to catch the rain. I would love to have a huge rainwater tank but we have to finish off our current projects before getting one.
Everything is wet. There is a river, ankle deep, flowing through the yard. It seems a terrible waste. In a week or two we will be watering again because of the hot weather that will return.
.... at least my ironing is now up to date.

There you go. Always a bright side, even if it is the wretched ironing!

I know what you mean about feeling like the rain is going to waste - my big tank has been overflowing for days and the sound of it going back down the downpipe makes me feel almost as bad as the sound of a tap left running LOL. Lovely stuff though isn't it? I could almost hear the garden slurping it up.

Enjoy each drop.

Can I please have some of your buckets? Full, of course. :) It has been so dry here since the downpour of rain we received early December. And since we have no idea when it may rain next, we've had to switch our yard from rainwater to mains, just to give the plants a drink. We still have the house running on rainwater, but there just wont be enough for both house and yard if this dry-spell continues for much longer...

It's always the way isn't it? Some of us are begging for rain and some of us are begging it to stop.

There is free rain at my house for anyone that needs it. Bring your own buckets, - express service - buckets filled in as little as an hour! LOL

Being on tank water only it has become the norm for us to know every Ml of rain around...lol!

Congratulations on the rain! I hope we get some like that soon.
When I worry about 'wasted' water, I remind myself that the water going down the drain flows to the ocean, is evaporated to rain on us again. If only those dratted air currents would send it this way!
